Computer Skills for Kindergarten
Age-appropriate goals for 4–6 year olds and playful ways to practice them.
Realistic goals
- Hold the mouse with a relaxed grip.
- Point and click on large targets.
- Drag an object to a matching spot.
- Find a few letters on the keyboard, including the space bar.
Keep sessions short
Five to ten minutes is plenty. Choose the Kindergarten level in every mouse game: targets are large, slow, and forgiving.
Talk it through
Name the actions out loud — 'point, click, let go'. Turn on audio instructions so games read their directions aloud.
